Simple Steps Help Keep Friendships & Relationships Healthy

Here are Three Simple Steps To Better Friendships (from my own experiences):

  1. Say What You Mean & Mean What You Say – Be careful that we are honest with each other. If you disagree, then go ahead & disagree. Don’t pretend it’s okay if it’s not! Deceit is one of the biggest relationship & friendship killers. It also becomes a habit very quickly. Tell the truth: Remember that you don’t have to be blunt to be honest.
  2. Keep A Short Record Of Wrongs – If someone you love or respect says or does something you don’t like, be sure to talk to them about it & resolve any outstanding issues. NEVER think that by ignoring it, things will sort themselves out: they won’t! If you have been hurt, it will eat away at you until it assumes a life & proportion that it does not deserve. Nip it in the bud & deny resentment the chance to take root or grow.
  3. Keep The Channels Of Communication Open – Avoid letting small, often petty disagreements silence you. Many great friendships have been destroyed or severely damaged when one or both parties retreat into their corner of silence. Whilst there is communication silence, there is fertile ground for the seeds of doubt, mistrust & even lies to grow & take hold. Open channels provide opportunity for growth & development of our relationships & friendships.

Performing a regular health check on our friendships & relationships helps to maintain friendship health. & also helps us spot the first signs of disease. Use it & enjoy the benefits.
