Almost Like the Original, Just Better!

Almost Like the Original, just better!

I took this photograph yesterday whilst walking along the canal to collect my car from having some work done at a local garage (MoT for those of you familiar with the British system).

It was a lovely cool, still evening.

I returned home & simply made a small adjustment to the original, enhancing some colours slightly & this photo was the result.

The original is, in my opinion, pretty good. The one that has been enhanced looks a bit more spectacular; a bit more intense; a bit less real … but not much.

I was reminded how often I’m tempted to enhance something; a memory, a situation, an event, a story, so that it looks better than the original.

The problem is that if I do that often enough I am building a paper world that can all too quickly collapse, leaving rubble, fallout & heartache.

Take care until next time …

Oh! In case you wanted to see the original photograph, here it is …

About waywood

Hi & Welcome to my thoughts. I share subjects that are important to me. As you’ll notice, these subjects can be quite broad & varied. I like variety; I like breadth & I like a challenge. I am passionate about helping others overcome their fears, grow in confidence & succeed. Although many people would label me as an achiever, I have battled low confidence, low self-esteem & a couple of nasty, long periods depression over the years. I can’t say, “I know how you feel” but I can hopefully empathise & offer some of the things that are helping me to turn my life around. Please feel free to comment, share & enjoy. Take care, best wishes & keep well Stuart
