I love summer & the sense of goodness that it can bring. Somehow there’s a bit more time to relax & enjoy what’s around us.
I also love the peace & quiet; very few experiences can compare with getting away from it all for a while.
Take the photo above; shot in a quaint Derbyshire town.
Looks idyllic doesn’t it?
If I had turned through 180-degrees it would have looked quite different; queues of traffic, roadworks with pneumatic drills hammering away, men shouting …
Just a small change of viewpoint would have presented a very different story.
That made me wonder how often what I see is very different from what others see looking at the same situation from a different viewpoint?
How often do I see a happy confident exterior when someone is actually falling apart inside?
How often do I show others what I want them to see rather than what they need to see?
This challenges me to look beyond the surface to what lies deeper inside.
I may not be able to help even when I do know what is going on, but unless I look I’ll never see.
Take care until next time …
